The History Behind the Women Making History Awards and Celebration
In 2016, Philadelphia played host to the Democratic National Convention, where for the first time in history, a woman received a nomination for president of the United States. And of all cities- it happened right here in the birthplace of America herself.
Against this historic backdrop, which highlighted a woman, The Walnut Club felt it presented the perfect opportunity to bring together women from across the region to celebrate their own history-making accomplishments.
Nine trailblazing women were chosen as recipients of our 1st ever “Women Making History” awards & celebration. These women have reached the pinnacles of their careers, representing all areas of business, media, arts and science.
